Dated summer of the dingmao year (1987), Beijing., Provenance: Acquired directly from the artist by Josef Hejzlar (1927–2012), the eminent Czech sinologist, art historian and translator, author of the celebrated monograph on Qi Baishi (1970, awarded the Odeon Publishing House Prize); Beijing, summer 1987; thence by descent in the Hejzlar family.
